In neighborhoods and districts.
How do you maintain the balance between energy demand and energy supply? And how do you provide for energy storage and the transport of energy, both now and in the future? These are the challenges in our research.
Since 2016, we have been comparing possible energy system variants for clients. That started in Amsterdam's Buiksloterham, where we investigated three energy systems in collaboration with the University of Delft. Namely gas & electricity, district heating of 90°C and an all-electric system.
Our findings led into the research project KoWaNet and later to other comparison projects in Amsterdam (Van der Pek neighborhood and Banne Noord), Amersfoort, Edam-Volendam and Zaandam Centrum Oost.
